Wild aim to end skid against Blue Jackets
Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Minnesota Wild

BLUE JACKETS (2-3-1) at WILD (2-2-1)

TV: FS-O, FS-N, FS-WI

Season series: This is the first of three meetings between the teams. They split a four-game season series in 2011-12.

Big story: It’s a matchup of new-look squads who are hoping to reverse their fortunes in 2013. Neither team qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season.

Team scope:

Blue Jackets: Columbus earned its first points since a shootout win at Nashville on opening night as Vinny Prospal broke a 1-1 tie early in the third period and Sergei Bobrovsky made 24 saves as the Blue Jackets picked up a 2-1 victory against the Dallas Stars at Nationwide Arena on Monday night.

"Sergei was very good. He had some big saves in the third period," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said. "When a goalie makes some saves like that, that gives you confidence playing in front of him. You don't have to think, `I've got to get the puck out' because you know he's back there. It gives everyone confidence."

Wild: Minnesota enters Tuesday’s action in the midst of a three-game winless streak, although the Wild did manage to pick up a point with Sunday’s 5-4 overtime loss at St. Louis. Zach Parise scored twice and Dany Heatley and Mikko Koivu each had a goal and an assist, but it wasn’t enough to get Minnesota back in the win column.

"Very disappointed," Wild coach Mike Yeo said. "It was a recipe for how to lose a game. ... There were more than several mistakes. The bottom line is we can sit here and talk about our potential, the fact that we have a nice team on paper. (But) the winners do things that it takes to win hockey games."

Who’s hot: Blue Jackets defenseman Fedor Tyutin leads the club with five points (one goal, four assists) in six games. … Parise has nine points (five goals, four assists) in his first five games with Minnesota. Heatley is 4-2-6 and Koivu is 1-5-6.

Injury report: Jackets winger Cam Atkinson could miss up to two weeks with a lower-body injury, while defenseman Ryan Murray (shoulder) is out for the season. … Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon is questionable with a foot injury.
