Wild hope to end skid against Ducks
Anaheim Ducks vs. Minnesota Wild
DUCKS (22-24-9) at WILD (25-22-8)

TV
: NBCSN (HD), TSN2

Last 10: Anaheim 6-2-2; Minnesota 3-6-1.

Season Series: This is the fourth and final meeting between the clubs. The Wild have won two of the first three matchups, including a 5-3 victory on Dec. 4 at the Honda Center. The visiting team has won each time.

Big Story: The teams enter Tuesday's showdown headed in different directions. Anaheim has made strides in recent weeks and is now just nine points behind Phoenix for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Minnesota, meanwhile, got off to a tremendous start this season but has slowed down tremendously as of late. The Wild will be hoping to avoid a four-game losing streak Tuesday night.

Team Scope:

Ducks
: Corey Perry came up huge for Anaheim on Sunday, as he tallied his fifth career hat trick in a 5-3 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena. The Ducks' victory improved their record to 12-2-3 over their last 17 games. Three of their five goals Sunday came via the power play.

Tuesday marks the third of Anaheim's eight-game road trip. The Ducks are 1-0-1 thus far as Sunday's win followed a 2-1 shootout loss at Detroit last Friday.

"I told them to never complain about winning a game," coach Bruce Boudreau said after Sunday's victory. "If we want to continue to win on this trip we have to get more like we played in Detroit rather than (how) we played here."

Wild: It's hard to win if you can't score, and that's been a major problem in Minnesota as of late. The Wild, who suffered a 3-1 loss on home ice against Columbus on Saturday, have scored just six goals in their last five games. They are ranked 29th in the NHL with just 125 goals scored.

"This time of year, we know we need wins. At this time of the year, outplaying a team unfortunately doesn't matter a whole lot," coach Mike Yeo said. "Deserving to win, unfortunately, doesn't count for a whole lot. We have to find ways to win."

Who's Hot: Anaheim's top line of Perry, Bobby Ryan and Ryan Getzlaf combined for eight points Sunday night.

Injury Report: Devante Smith-Pelly (foot) and Dan Ellis (groin) are out for Anaheim. … Minnesota will be without Clayton Stoner (leg), Guillaume Latendresse (concussion), Pierre-Marc Bouchard (concussion) and Jarod Palmer (concussion).

Stat Pack: Ducks forward Teemu Selanne needs three more points to catch Luc Robitaille for 20th on the all-time scoring list. … Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom is 6-2-0 with a 1.95 goals-against average in eight career home starts against the Ducks.

Puck Drop: "This isn't the time of year for moral victories. We have to find a way to put points on the board." -- Wild center Matt Cullen
