Lightning return home to face Canucks
Vancouver Canucks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
CANUCKS (26-14-3) at LIGHTNING (17-20-3)

TV
: SNET-P (HD), SUN (HD)

Last 10: Vancouver 6-3-1; Tampa Bay 5-4-1.

Season Series: This is the lone meetings between the teams. They last faced each other on Dec. 11, 2010, when Tampa Bay earned a 5-4 overtime win against Vancouver at Rogers Arena.

Big Story: Canucks coach Alain Vigneault came up just short in his bid to be a part of the coaching staff at the 2012 Tim Hortons NHL All-Star Game in Ottawa. Due to Vancouver's 2-1 loss at Florida on Monday night, Vigneault was edged out by San Jose's Todd McLellan for the job.

The spot was determined by which team had the greatest points percentage in the Western Conference through Monday's games.

Team Scope:

Canucks: Vancouver has enjoyed plenty of success at the BankAtlantic Center over the past decade, but they came up short Monday night and suffered their first loss at Florida since Oct. 20, 1999. The Canucks were 8-0-1 with a pair of ties before Scott Clemmensen frustrated them in a 25-save performance.

"I think we came out really strong," said Canucks captain Henrik Sedin, "but if you're off 3 or 4 percent in a League like this, against a team that's surprising a lot of guys this year, you need to play well."

Lightning: Tampa Bay is reeling again, as it enters Tuesday's match hoping to avoid a four-game losing streak. The Lightning have been outscored 14-5 in three straight losses and most recently suffered a 3-1 setback at the hands of the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday at the Bell Centre.

Who's Hot: Henrik and Daniel Sedin each have a goal and 3 assists in his last five games for the Canucks. … Lightning center Steven Stamkos has 6 goals in his last five contests.

Injury Report: Vancouver is expected to be without Sami Salo (concussion), Aaron Rome (thumb), Andrew Ebbett (collarbone), David Booth (knee), Aaron Volpatti (shoulder) and Byron Bitz (hip). … Tampa Bay is missing Mattias Ohlund (knee), Ryan Shannon (knee), Victor Hedman (concussion), Adam Hall (upper body) and JT Wyman (upper body).

Stat Pack: Stamkos, who leads the League with 28 goals, is the only NHL player to have scored at least 40 goals in each of the past three calendar years.

Puck Drop: "We didn't play well in Toronto, we deserved the game in Ottawa and tonight was two teams battling and it was pretty even. It sums up pretty much what has been happening." -- Lightning coach Guy Boucher after Saturday's 3-1 loss at Montreal
