Canucks aim for fourth straight win
Anaheim Ducks vs. Vancouver Canucks

DUCKS (12-13-7) at CANUCKS (19-14-0)

Last 10: Anaheim 4-2-4; Vancouver 7-3-0.

Season Series: This is the second of four meetings between the teams this season. The Ducks cruised to a 7-2 win over the Canucks at the Honda Center on Oct. 30. Corey Perry and Bobby Ryan each had a pair of goals in the victory.

Big Story: For whatever reason, the Ducks just can't seem to string wins together, although they have tallied points in eight of their last 10 games. Nonetheless, after pushing the Detroit Red Wings to a seventh game in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season, Randy Carlyle's club is tied with the St. Louis Blues for last place in the Western Conference.

Team Scope:

Ducks: Anaheim extended its point streak to five games with a 3-1 win at Columbus on Saturday night, but it was only the Ducks' second victory this month and came just one night after blowing a two-goal lead en route to an overtime loss at Detroit.

"We had a great chance (Friday) night to win the game but we gave it away in the third," Anaheim goalie Jonas Hiller said. "We were able to keep going in the third and didn't get any goals against. That was huge, also, for the confidence of the team."

Canucks: Vancouver won its third straight game on Monday night as Roberto Luongo made 24 saves and Ryan Kesler had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory against the Los Angeles Kings at GM Place. The win pulled the Canucks within six points of the first-place Colorado Avalanche in the Northwest Division.

"When we have all lines firing were a pretty good team," said Mason Raymond, who also scored on Monday. "When we're skating and going north-south and getting pucks towards the net we know we are being effective."

Who's Hot: Ducks forward Dan Sexton scored for the third consecutive game on Saturday and has four in five games since being promoted from AHL Manitoba, while Ryan has three multi-point efforts in his last five contests. … Kesler has three goals in his last four games, while Canucks center Henrik Sedin has notched at least a point in seven straight contests and has 14 assists during that span. He ranks second in the League with 42 points.

Injury Report: Ducks center Ryan Carter (foot) is expected to return later this month, while right wing Teemu Selanne may not return until January due to a broken hand. … Canucks defenseman Alex Edler is likely to miss two weeks with an upper-body injury, while forward Pavol Demitra (shoulder) hopes to return later this month. Michael Grabner (ankle) is out indefinitely.

Stat Pack: With Saturday's win at Columbus, the Ducks stopped a nine-game road losing streak that dated to Oct. 10 when they won at Philadelphia. They went 0-5-4 over that stretch.

Puck Drop: "It's nice to hear my name when it doesn't say, 'Vancouver Canucks penalty by' … because that's how I usually hear it." -- Canucks defenseman Shane O'Brien, who has two assists in three games
