TIME: Tuesday, 7 p.m. EDT.
The Stars have won every game they've played against the Blue Jackets since losing 4-2 at Columbus on Nov. 1, 2002, and have won three meetings this season by a combined 14-8 score.
Dallas has only lost twice to the Blue Jackets in 19 all-time matchups.
The Stars will try to close the regular season with a win before beginning the playoffs as the second-seeded team in the Western Conference. They will face Colorado in the first round.
Dallas fell to the top-seeded team in the West on Monday, blowing a two-goal lead in the final seven minutes of regulation in a 3-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings.
"We have to be better at protecting leads," Stars captain Mike Modano said. "That's one of the things we better improve on soon or it is going to cost us."
Dallas goaltender Marty Turco gave up three goals or more for the fifth time in six starts and remained stuck on 41 wins, one behind New Jersey's Martin Brodeur and Calgary's Miikka Kiprusoff for the league lead.
Though they will miss the playoffs for the fifth time in as many years of existence, the Blue Jackets have secured the highest point total in franchise history with 72. Columbus had 71 in its inaugural 2000-01 season.
The Blue Jackets missed a chance to win their third consecutive game with a 4-3 loss to Chicago on Sunday, one night after beating the Blackhawks 5-2.
"It looked like two tired teams making a lot of mistakes," Columbus coach Gerard Gallant said after Sunday's defeat. "Chicago was home, so they were the better team."
The Blue Jackets added defenseman Andy Delmore to the roster Monday on recall from the AHL's Syracuse Crunch. He won the AHL's award for outstanding defenseman last week and was also the highest-scoring defenseman in the minor leagues this season.
He's appeared in 282 career NHL games with four teams, and has two penalty minutes in six games with Columbus this season since being claimed off waivers Oct. 4.
