In two games, Dominik Hasek has been just as good as expected for the Ottawa Senators.
Hasek will likely get to continue his hot start with his new team when the Senators host the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Corel Centre.
Hasek appeared in only 14 games with Detroit during the 2003-04 season, but the lockout seems to have re-energized "The Dominator."
Hasek made his home debut with Ottawa a memorable one, recording 35 saves en route to his 64th career shutout Saturday night in a 5-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Hasek's effort came in front of a record Corel Centre crowd of 19,661.
"It was a good workout for me," said Hasek, who needs two shutouts to tie Patrick Roy for 13th on the all-time list.
In his career against the Maple Leafs, Hasek is 16-5-5 with three shutouts and a 1.94 goals-against average. He is 5-1-2 in his last eight starts against Toronto.
The Leafs are still looking for their first win after dropping two straight one-goal contests.
The Maple Leafs fell 5-4 Saturday night to Montreal, as Mike Ribeiro beat Ed Belfour with 4:27 to play for the winning goal.
With captain and star center Mats Sundin out 4-to-6 weeks with a fractured facial bone suffered in Wednesday's 3-2 shootout loss to Ottawa, the Maple Leafs are looking for an offensive spark.
Toronto native Eric Lindros could be the catalyst the Leafs are looking for. He scored a goal in Wednesday's season-opening win against the Senators and is tied for the team lead with three points.
Toronto and Ottawa will meet six more times this season.
