GAME: Buffalo Sabres (12-16-2-1) at Pittsburgh Penguins (7-16-4-2).

TIME: Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. EST.

The Pittsburgh Penguins look for consecutive victories for just the second time this season, while the Buffalo Sabres try to snap their season-high losing streak at five when the last-place teams meet at Mellon Arena.

Pittsburgh ended a season-high, five-game losing streak Saturday with a 5-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The victory gave the Penguins consecutive home victories for the first time this season.

Tomas Surovy had the first two-goal game of his career after being a healthy scratch the previous two games, linemate Aleksey Morozov added a career-high three assists and Pittsburgh scored a season-high in goals.

"He (Pittsburgh coach Ed Olczyk) told me I had to play with the same intensity I did when I first got called up from the minors," said Surovy, who tied it midway through the second period and added a power-play goal in the third.

"This was a big win for us, and I hope I get some more chances."

Pittsburgh won back-to-back games for the only time this season from Oct. 30-Nov. 1.

Buffalo extended its skid on Saturday, falling 3-2 on the road to the Minnesota Wild for its fifth straight loss. The Sabres haven't lost six in a row since dropping eight straight from Jan. 25-Feb. 13.

The Sabres and Wild traded goals in an evenly played first period, with Miroslav Satan giving Buffalo a 1-0 lead at 8:49. For Satan, who led the team with 26 goals last season, it was just the second time he's scored in 20 games.

Buffalo center Chris Drury broke a 1-1 tie 65 seconds into the third period, but the Wild scored twice in the final five minutes to beat the Sabres.

"It hurts a lot," Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff said. "When things are going bad, things like this happen. I thought we played a good third period and they got those two goals that shouldn't have happened."

Pittsburgh beat Buffalo last month to improve to 6-0-2 in the last eight meetings between the teams.
